sahun hong, co-artistic director & piano

Praised as an “artist of enormous prowess” (Verbier Festival Newsletter) with “lots of clarity, confidence, and wisdom” (New York Concert Review), pianist Sahun Sam Hong brings his colorful style and riveting energy to the solo, chamber, and concerto stage. Hong was the winner of the 2017 Vendome Prize at Verbier, and received Second Prize at the 2017 International Beethoven Competition Vienna. He was also a recipient of a 2021 American Pianists Award, and finalist in the 2018 International German Piano Award and 2017 American Pianists Awards.

zachary mowitz, co-artistic director & cello

A native of Princeton, NJ, cellist Zachary Mowitz made his solo debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in July 2018. An artist who wears many hats, Zach co-founded ensemble132, Nodality Music, and Trio St. Bernard – the 2018 winner of the Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition – and has performed in halls and festivals throughout the world. These include the Marlboro Music Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Perlman Music Program, Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium, and the Berlin Konzerthaus. Zach attended the Curtis Institute of Music, Royal College of Music, and Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, where he worked with mentors such as Peter Wiley, Carter Brey, Richard Lester, and Gary Hoffman. In 2020, he was awarded First Prize in the World Bach Competition.

Marcy Rosen, artistic advisor

Marcy Rosen has established herself as one of the most important and respected artists of our day. Los Angeles Times music critic Herbert Glass has called her “one of the intimate art’s abiding treasures” and The New Yorker Magazine calls her “a New York legend of the cello”.  She has performed in recital and with orchestra throughout Canada, England, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, South America, Switzerland, and all fifty of the United States. Sought after for her riveting and informative Master Classes, she has been a guest of the Curtis Institute of Music, the New England Conservatory, the San Francisco Conservatory, the Central Conservatory in Beijing, China, the Seoul Arts Center in Korea and the Cartagena International Music Festival in Colombia.

ABI FAYETTE, violin

Violinist Abi Fayette is the youngest of four children in a musical family. Abi received her bachelor’s degree from The Curtis Institute of Music studying with Ida Kavafian and masters degree from New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Soovin Kim. During the 2019-20 season, Fayette was in residence at the Curtis Institute of Music as a Community Artist fellow where she worked alongside teachers within the Philadelphia School District to create and expand music education programs. She is a member of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Catalyst Quartet.

 

maria ioudenitch, violin

Born in Russia, violinist Maria Ioudenitch immigrated with her musical family to the U.S. at the age of two and grew up in Kansas City. In 2021,  she received first prizes in the Ysaÿe International Music Competition, the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition and the Joseph Joachim International Competition. Recognized for her innovative programs, her first album on Warner Classics – Songbird with pianist Kenny Broberg – spans from Franz Schubert, Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann to Nikolai Medtner, Richard Strauss and Nadia Boulanger. In 2023, Songbird won the Opus Klassik award in the category “Chamber Music Recording of the Year”. Maria is currently finishing up a Professional Studies programme at the Kronberg Academy, working with Christian Tetzlaff. Since 2022, Maria has also been mentored by Sonia Simmenauer as part of Simmenauer’s new initiative, zukunfts.music.

inmo yang, violin

Korean violinist Inmo Yang has been hailed by the Boston Globe for his “seamless technique and a tender warmth of tone,” combined with “an ability to project an engaging sense of inner sincerity through his playing.” In March 2015, he won the 54th International Violin Competition “Premio Paganini” in Genoa, Italy, marking the first time since 2006 that the Paganini Competition jury awarded First Prize. His victory at the Paganini competition led to concerto engagements with conductor Fabio Luisi and a special recital in Genoa using Paganini’s own Guarneri Del Gesu violin.

stephanie zyzak, violin

Praised for her sensitive musicianship and heartfelt playing, violinist Stephanie Zyzak is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most soulful and profound musicians of her generation. Since making her debut at the age of seven with Cincinnati’s Starling Chamber Orchestra, Stephanie has performed as a soloist throughout Germany, Russia, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Italy, and France. She is also a deeply passionate chamber musician, performing at festivals including the Marlboro Music Festival, Caramoor, Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, and the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival. In addition, Stephanie has collaborated with renowned artists such as Mitsuko Uchida, Jonathan Biss, Kim Kashkashian, Danny Phillips, Marcy Rosen, and Ida Kavafian, among many others.

Luther warren, viola

Violinist and violist Luther Warren has received numerous awards for his work and appeared as soloist with several orchestras. His playing has been featured multiple times on National Public Radio and at such festivals as Perlman Music Program’s Chamber Music Workshop, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, Taos School of Music, the International Holland Music Sessions, and Domaine Forget International Music Festival. He has collaborated in performance with such artists as David Shifrin, Colin Carr, Ida Kavafian, Steven Tenenbom, Atar Arad, and Hsin-Yun Huang. Luther has studied at the New England Conservatory in Boston with Donald Weilerstein, Miriam Fried, and Martha Katz.

 

zhanbo zheng, viola

Known for his "beautiful tone and control, tremendous energy and thoughtful musicality" (Violinist), violist Zhanbo Zheng was the first Chinese to win the Primrose International Viola Competition. He has also taken top prizes in other major competitions including the Irving M. Klein International String Competition and the Washington International Competition for Strings. He was also a recipient of the Emerging Artist Award from the Saint Botolph Club Foundation. An avid chamber musician, Mr. Zheng has appeared internationally in major music festivals and has toured the US several times with Marlboro Music Festival and Ravinia Steans Music Institute, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall, and Kaufman Music Center. Mr. Zheng holds BM and MM degrees from the New England Conservatory and is currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at the Juilliard School. His teachers include Miriam Fried, Kim Kashkashian, Paul Neubauer, and Shaowu Wang.

CHASE PARK, cello

Chase Park, born in 1998 began his musical training at the age of 4 with Madeleine Golz at the JCC Thurnauer School of Music in Tenafly, NJ. In 2010, Chase was accepted into the Perlman Music Program, where he spent 7 consecutive summers intensively studying chamber music and cello performance under the tutelage of Merry Peckham, Ronald Leonard, Paul Katz, and Itzhak Perlman. That same year, Chase began his studies with Dr. Minhye Clara Kim at the Juilliard School’s pre-college division until 2016. He then attended the Curtis Institute of Music where he studied with Peter Wiley and Carter Brey, and received numerous coachings from Pamela Frank and Meng-Chieh Liu. Chase participated in Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, Program for Piano and Strings in 2017-2018 and was accepted to the Marlboro Music Festival in 2020. He is currently pursuing a masters degree back with Dr. Kim at the Juilliard School.

Winner of 2018’s Salon de Virtuosi, Janice Carissa is an emerging virtuoso who has performed with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in place of Andre Watts and featured twice with The Philadelphia Orchestra under the batons of Cristina Macelaru and Stephane Deneve. Her success has taken her to renowned stages such as Louis Vuitton Foundation, Millennium Park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, WQXR’s Green Space, Kennedy Center, and Penderecki Center.
